Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has cautioned the people of the state not to vote for any change that will truncate the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonatham.
Mimiko who gave the warning at Ikare Akoko, during a rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo-North senatorial district on Wednesday, noted that the coming elections “should not be based on sentiments, but on the continuity of the transformation agenda of Jonathan.”
“Do not be deceived by the advocates of retrogressive change. Their presidential candidate lacks the intellectual competence and capability to run a 21st century government,” he said.
Mimiko said the people should vote massively for the President to guarantee the continued development of the region.
The governor also paid a courtesy visit to the traditional rulers of Akoko North-East local government, led by the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, where he stressed the need for the entire people of Akoko to appreciate and support President Jonathan for appointing a prominent son of Akoko, Brig.Gen Jones Arogbofa (retd.) as his Chief of Staff.
The traditional rulers expressed their support for the Jonathan administration for bringing important developmental projects to the area.
They also lauded the Mimiko administration for setting up a commission to look into the issue of upgrading the status of obas in the state.
